Isabelle's preschool had a "pajama day" where everyone got to wear pjs (including the teachers) to school and bring a cuddly friend along. She was so excited about it she was picking her hippo weeks beforehand as the friend to bring to school. Pajama day was also Valentine's Day at school and this was more fun than you can imagine. Isabelle got to put everyone's Valentine's cards into their mailboxes (we stuck photos of each kid on the Valentines) which was almost as fun for her as bringing home her full mailbox full of treats and cards from all her friends.

For Valentine's Day this year, I thought it would be fun to bake a truly homemade "special" chocolate cake for Paul and Isabelle to enjoy (and me as well of course!). Isabelle was very excited about helping with every aspect and was with me at the grocery store when I searched for red hot hearts to decorate it with. Unfortunately this meant that she shared the "secret cake" idea with Paul repeatedly before Valentine's Day. Luckily 3 year olds aren't good at keeping secrets, but that means they aren't good at keeping secrets. :)
Isabelle helped me make the cake batter, the frosting, and of course she did the decorating. Here are some cute pictures of her baking with me.
We recently had two of our closest friends and neighbors on our street move out of the area. This was sad for all of us as Isabelle's buddies Evie & Ella moved away with their families, and they'd been friends since babies. We've always felt lucky to have such a great group of friends in our neighborhood and especially with 4 little girls all the same age, and now we're facing how different it feels around here! Luckily we still get to see Charlotte and her family often.
Here are some pictures of the last playdate with Ella before she and her family moved back to Canada. We're hoping to see them on visits here and there, since it's only a few hours away.
